About

This subdomain was created on December 20th, 2005 to be a fanlisting collective, so I could keep track on how many fanlistings I own. At first, I had trouble installing Enthusiast 3, so I switched between that and Flinx Collective to see which would be easier to install, but at the end, I installed Enthusiast 3, since the majority of fanlisting collectives run on Enth3.

In September 2006, I started revamping and closing some of my fanlistings. From a list of around 15 fanlistings, I fell back to 10 fanlistings. Most of the ones I closed weren't of as much interest to me anymore (eg. Cristiano Ronaldo's physical fanlistings).

After a network crash throughout the Au-Contraire.org domain in late 2008, I had to restart my fanlisting collective from scratch. Luckily I still had backups from early 2008, so there wasn't too much damage. The fanlisting collective was finally completely back up in April 2009.

Why name my fanlisting collective Self-Portrait? Because if you think about it, making fanlistings is pretty much making pieces of yourself. You are creating a fantastic mosaic of fanlistings; each one of a subject that you admire or obsess about. Thus, it seemed that the name "Self-Portrait" is most appropriate, yet original.

What is a Fanlisting?

A fanlisting is simply an online list of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are), they are just a place where you can sign up with other fans. - TheFanlistings.org
